On a sunny Saturday afternoon in Dolores Park, reading Ficciones, a collection of stories by Jorge Luis Borges. Right now she's reading the story El Jardin de Senderos que se Bifurcan. In English--The Garden of Paths that Divide in Two.

Her favorite story in the book, which she's read five times, is Funes el Memorioso, in which a character, as a result of an accident, has heightened senses. He remembers every second of every day in minute detail encompassing all of the senses. Recently she read a collection of essays about genetics called Monkey Love.

Here's her friend's sketches:

I love the dog.
