Reading Classical Music: The Era of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven, by Philip G. Downs. She teaches music at the School for the Arts High School on Portola and is reading this book for a Masters in Music Education.

An interesting music book--How Musical is Man?, by ethnomusicologist, John Blacking. After living in a South African tribe and being exposed to their nonhierarchical musical structure, where everyone is considered to have talent, Blacking questions his own Western musical tradition.

Her favorite book of all time is The Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger, for Holden's luggage obsession.
