Reading The Fifth Sacred Thing, by Starhawk, a local author. It's about futuristic San Francisco. The rest of the United States has been taken over by corporations, but San Francisco is ruled by witches. The struggles between the powers play out.

The last thing she read were books about Chinese medicine and Walking the Tiger, by Peter Levine--it's about somatic psychology, healing trauma.

Her favorite author is Jorge Luis Borges, maybe because his writing is fantastical yet simple; he takes an idea to the extreme and exhausts the possibilities.
