Reading Beneath the Skin, by Nicci French, which she said was good, and scary. She's read a couple other books by the same author.

Her favorite book of all time is Sister Carrie, by Theodore Dreiser. She says that, though it was written in 1901, it is just as true now as it was then--what happens to people and how they react. Human nature hasn't changed at all. When it was first published it was banned even though there were no swear words or sex scenes--it was just considered immoral.
