Reading Tearing Down the Streets, Adventures in Urban Anarchy, by Jeff Ferrell. A book he recommends--No Trespassing, by Anders Corr. He's been living in Chicago, has just come to San Francisco, and hopes to get work as a laborer.

His favorite author--Edgar Allen Poe.

When I told him about the novel I'm working on he suggested a new plot line--a rich woman falls for a squatter. Might have potential?

Up next in the line-up--George Orwell's 1984, which he got at the library.
