Reading Murder on the Rails, by William G. Palmini and Tanya Chalupa. It was recommended to him by a friend he plays golf with, Red, as in Red's Java house on the Embarcadero. When Red recommends something, he said, you read it.

Right now he's also reading, among other books, Looking for Jimmy: A Search for Irish America, by Peter Quinn, a former speech writer for two former governors of New York. He says it's very well written.

His favorite author is James Michener, who passed away at the age of 90 ten years ago. His books are geographical histories. Check out the 4/21/07 posting for someone reading Iberia, about Andalusia, Spain.
