Reading Running with Scissors, a memoir by Augusten Burroughs, who has a really great website.

One of her favorite books is Nine Stories, by J.D. Salinger and of those, her favorite is the last one. It's kind of weird, she says, but she likes it--in it a little boy is talking about life and in the end he commits suicide.

Reading, for her, is for using the time, like when she's on Bart and finding new ways of thinking and understanding.
