Reading Gentlemen of the Road, by Michael Chabon, which, when it first came out, was serialized in The New York Times Magazine. It's not as good, she said, as Chabon's The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay.
She heard about it at the National Kidney Foundation's author luncheon. This year they had Tom Brokaw and Lisa See as well as Michael Chabon and others.
Her favorite book? She recommends The Windup Bird Chronicle, by Haruki Murakami.
