December 20, 2007 -- Thursday night

Reading Lonesome Dove, by Larry McMurtry. She said that, though it won a Pulitzer Prize, it's not very good.

What does she like?--Mystic River, by Dennis Lehane; Stones from the River, by Ursula Hegi; and Little Alters Everywhere, by Rebecca Wells.

She reads about four or five books a year and said that most of them aren't that interesting. She gets most of them at yard sales, picking up titles she hears people talking about. Sometimes she seeks out authors.

The paper clips? I don't know. Her train came before I could ask.
