January 13, 2008 -- Sunday evening

Reading Wild Swans, by Jung Chang. It's a family saga, about the author, her mother, and her grandmother, who lived during the time where they bound women's feet. Three different friends recommended it to her to read on the plane on a recent trip she took to China. She didn't get around to it then, but has time now.

She just finished her masters in Organizational Development! A book she recommends in that field is Process Consultation, by Edgar Schein.

Another good book--Stones from the River, by Ursula Hegi. She likes it for the character development. It's about a dwarf named Trudi who lives in a small German town and her turmoil about being different.

If she were to write her own book, it'd be travel lit, about a place she's never been. She'd interview people to learn their stories.
