July 2, Wednesday morning -- Reading Michael Pollan

Before breakfast at Boogaloos, one of the best brunch places in the Mission District

Nearing the end of The Omnivore's Dilemma, by Michael Pollan.

Her favorite book of all time--Midnight's Children, by Salman Rushdie, for his language and mysticism. Actually, she likes ALL of Salman Rushdie's writing.

Have you read any of Michael Pollan's books?

His most recent book, In Defense of Food, is a interesting ready.

To sum it up, he essentially argues that our focus in eating has lost any sense of substance. Rather than concerning ourselves with the actual item we eat, we focus on the nutrients and other things.

That is a crappy summary; everyone should just read it!
