July 10, Saturday afternoon -- Reading Iain Banks

After pizza in Hayes Valley
Reading The Steep Approach to Garbadale, by Ianian Banks. Favorite book -- Feersum Endjinn, by the same author, a science fiction novel about artificial intelligence and keeping the sun from dimming.

Iaian Banks wrote The Wasp Factory, which was reviewed as one of the top 100 most influential books of the 20th Century by the Guardian.

If he were to write his own book it'd be called The Inside Outside and would be about religion and spirituality, the idea of people thinking that it's okay that everyone has their own god, just so long as he's like their god.
