October 17, Sunday afternoon -- Reading Lorrie Moore

While I'm recovering from foot surgery.....
My, sister, helping me put life in perspective, reading the very poignant People Like That Are The Only People Here, a short story by Lorrie Moore about a mom discovering her baby has cancer, which goes into all the details of treatment and the other cancer baby moms who wear sweatsuits that the narrator doesn't want to wear and can't figure out where to buy, meanwhile the husband in the story says, "are you taking notes? You're a writer. You should write about this."

The story had desired effect. Thanks, Liz!
