Reading Guide de Voyage, Etats-Unis, Cote Ouest, published by Let's Go. He is visiting the western United States from Quebec with a couple of friends from Italy. He said the guidebook was good, but had a lot of gaps.

Recently he read Ferdydurke, by the Polish author, Witold Gombrowicz. There's a nice entry on Wikipedia about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferdydurke. His favorite book is L'insoutenable legrete de l'etre (in English, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, by Milan Kundera (mentioned earlier on this blog). He said he liked it for the philosophy of the author and for its denunciation of kitch.

The best place he and his friends have visited so far on their trip has been Monument Valley.
