Reading The Time Traveler's Wife, by Audrey Niffenegger. It's her self described "brain candy." We'd been talking about reasons why people read and I'd said that most people choose to read fiction because they want to learn something, but they want it candy coated. She said that, actually, she's reading this book not to learn, she wants only the candy coating--she's a law student and she's reading this book so she doesn't have to think about the law. The last book she had time to read (last summer), was Reading Lolita in Tehran, by Azar Nafisi (which she did read to learn something).

Her favorite book--Life of Pi, by Yann Martel.
