Reading John Adams, by David McCullough. Before this he read a book with a series of New Yorker profiles, the best of which was on the card shark, Ricky Jay. A while ago he was reading Tony Hillerman mysteries. He says he goes through two book phases. He was in a Murakami phase, reading Norwegian Wood, when he met his now girlfriend on Nerve.com. It was the book section of her profile that got him--she liked Murakami, too.
He doesn't have a favorite book, but did say that Sherwood Anderson's Winesberg, Ohio was worth reading.
