Reading Prep, by Curtis Sittenfeld. She says she always reads while she's walking from to and from work and Bart. That, and the time on Bart, is the only time she has because she has a little one-year old boy at home! Before this she was reading trashy sci fi by Laurell K. Hamilton and Why Gender Matters: What Parents and Teachers Need to Know about the Emerging Science of Sex Differences, by Leonard Sax, MD, PhD. She said the book was pretty much in line with her own ideas, but it was good to read it anyway.

Her favorite book is Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath and the favorite scene--the one at the end when Ma tries to explain the difference between men and women and says that women are like rivers that flow around us, that they move with change.

I just switched to the new version of blogger and can't figure out how to make this picture vertical. If anyone has the technical know-how, let me know.
