Reading Psychotic Reactions and Carburetor Dung, The Work of a Legendary Critic: Rock'n Roll as literature and literature as Rock'n Roll, by Lester Bangs. He says it's pretty good--he just read something about John Coltrane that was pretty cool.

His favorite book of all time--The Dharma Bums, by Jack Kerouac, which he read in Ireland while he was traveling around the world. He's not sure, however, if he'd still like it now. Also when he was traveling he read Kahlil Gabran's The Prophet, which he recommends--you can read it in two hours and there's lots of advice on how the world goes and you can just take it or leave it.
