Reading The Waste Lands, The Dark Tower III, by Stephen King. His friend said that if he bought the first one in the series he'd loan him the rest. He's now on the third one and says the series is linear and hard to put down.

His favorite books of all time, the Myst series, for its super descriptive wwriting. It's a follow-up to the computer game which he described as a puzzle type game where you interact with levers and such.
