November 20, 2007 -- Tuesday evening

Reading Falling Man, by Don DeLillo. It's a 9-11 story about a man who survives and is able to walk out of the building. He keeps on walking until he reaches the home of his ex-wife. They haven't seen each other for months, her home is not closer than his, but that is where he goes. The book explores this and other things.

She read about Falling Man in People Magazine, where it was described as a beautiful book.

Her favorite book? Whatever one she's reading. In the morning she commutes to San Francisco from the East Bay and has forty-minutes to read. She loves her commute for this reason.

Her advice? Keep writing and she'll keep reading. Writing, she says, is worthwhile. It's not even who is reading the book. It's that it was written.
