Doing laundry and reading the latest Harry Potter. They're addictive, he said.
His favorite book of all time--On Food and Cooking: The Science and Lore of the Kitchen, by Harold McGee. It has ancient recipes from the Romans and it references the science of food, like browning reactions and egg yolk particles.
Recently he read The Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z, by Max Brooks, Mel Brooks' son.
