November 27, 2007 -- Tuesday afternoon

Reading The Scar, by China Miéville. She found it on Amazon (though she usually patronizes local bookstores, like the nearby Stacy's in downtown San Francisco) and thought it looked good. In 2003 The Scar won the British Fantasy Award. His second novel, Perdido Street Station, which she plans on reading next, won the 2001 Arthur C. Clarke Award.

Her favorite book? She doesn't have one, but last month she read Howl's Moving Castle, by Diana Wynne Jones, which she said was great.

If she were to write her own book it'd be about punk rock in the early 80s in San Francsico. It was very underground and there were shows in weird places. And usually there would, at any particular venue, be only one show. They'd never get invited back.
