December 29, 2007 -- Saturday evening

Reading Captain Tsubasa, by Yoichi Takahashi, one of his favorite manga comic series, which has been around since he was in high school. He found it on the bookshelf of the restaurant he's at--On the Bridge--located in Japantown over Webster Street, connecting buildings in Japantown Center.

The series begins when a young soccer player is twelve years old in Japan. When he is eighteen he moves to Brazil to play soccer.

At age twelve he wanted to be a Hollywood filmmaker....now he works as a programmer.

Other favorite manga series--Hunter versus Hunter and Touch.

What he's learned from manga--new vocabulary. When you're a child, there are words, not all words, but some words that are complex in these books, and they help a child develop a good vocabulary.
