June 25, Wednesday afternoon -- Reading Tom Robbins

In the ethereal glow of gourmet frozen yogurt

Reading Jitterbug Perfume, by Tom Robbins. A friend of hers had it on her Facebook page so she decided to check it out.

Something she's been recommending--Persepolis, by Marjane Satrapi.

Next up on the to-read list--The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, by Junot Díaz.

Have you read anything by Tom Robbins?

Actually, I read this very same book as suggested by my sister-in-law. I don't usually take her advice, but I figured this one time I'd try it and I enjoyed it so much, that I passed it to a friend of mine.

Jitterbug Perfume is one of the few books that actually changed my life. Before I read it I couldn't stand beets and now I love them. If you've read the book you'll probably understand why.

Read "Even Cowgirls get the Blues" - and it was unexpectedly fun.

Tom Robbins is arguably one of the best writers of all time. Still Life with Woodpecker is my favorite: pregnant cheerleader princess, red haired criminal, frogs and cocaine, pyramids and dynamite--I love it.
