January 21, Wednesday night -- Reading Winifred Gallagher

Waiting for the train
Reading House Thinking: A Room-by Room Look at How We Live, by Winifred Gallagher.

Favorite book -- can't name just one, but then, because the train was coming, she did. Years of Salt and Rice, by Kim Stanley Robinson. It's about what would have happened if Europe was wiped out by the Plague and Buddhist and Islamic societies became the most powerful forces.

And one more quick question, as she was boarding. What would her book be about?

"Murder"

oooh murder! i read the years of rice and salt. it's pretty cool, it spans hundreds of years and the characters keep re-incarnating.
