January 23, Friday evening -- Reading Sanjiv J. Shah, M.D.

Out in the avenues, at one of those tapioca drink stores, Quickly
Reading the second edition of Hospitalist Handbook, edited by Sanjiv J. Shah, M.D., for his work. He's a resident at San Francisco General Hospital.

Something good he's read lately -- Revolutionary Road, by Richard Yates. A good "medicine" book that he recommends for those of us not in the medical profession -- Complications: A Surgeon's Notes on an Imperfect Science -- which was on the best sellers list -- by Atul Gawande.

I agree, Gawande's book is good.
