January 16, 2014, Thursday evening -- Reading Henry Miller

At a taqueria on Mission Street
Reading Tropic of Cancer, by Henry Miller, which a friend gave her as a gift.  This is the second time in less than a month that I've photographed someone reading this book.

Her favorite book of all time used to be Gone with the Wind, by Margaret Mitchell, which her parents gave her as a gift when she was ten, but now it's The Shipping News, by Annie Proulx.  Other contenders for favorite book were Sometimes a Great Notion by Ken Kesey and The God of Small Things, by Arundhati Roy.

I am impressed by the advanced reading technique displayed here. Holding the book open with another book to leave hands free for burrito eating shows ingenuity and dedication as well as double book goodness.
