Reading the fourth book of the The Shadow Rising series by Robert Jordan. He picked it up in a bookstore without having heard about it at first and was hooked after the first page.

When I asked him if a book had ever changed his life he said that, rather, his life changes around books, that when he goes back and rereads what he'd read before, he notices different things. For instance, when he reread Steppenwolf, by Herman Hesse, it seemed like a completely different book. In high school he'd found it interesting, but now it makes sense--it's about the loneliness inherent in society.

He's still looking for the perfect book.
