Reading A Concordance of Ones's Life, by Arthur Lyman Buford. It's a made-up index of a man's life for an art show/performance piece at The Lab (an art space on 16th Street) put on by Watchword Press.
She's one of the "fake tourists", a gaggle of blue shirted folks wandering around with sippy cups viewing sights mentioned in the concordance in this small town near Niagra falls:
"People used to come to see the water fall. Today they see nothing out there. They study their little paperbacks, all identical, its cover a pleasing blue and the four hundred-odd pages a phonebook yellow....
