Reading Life is Elsewhere, by Milan Kundera. It's about a boy's life and discovering his calling to become a poet. He's just started reading again, after tax-season. He works in accounting. Since April 15 he's read a couple books by Haruki Murakami.
His favorite book of all time--You're Not a Stranger Here, by Adam Haslett. It's a collection of short stories in which dramatic things happen--you can really get into to the characters.
