Reading I'll Steal You Away, by Niccoló Ammaniti. It's about small town Italy and it's great. She got it at a Books Inc. book fair that raised money for a school in the Presidio that her roommate is involved with.
Her favorite book is The Count of Monte Cristo, by Alexandre Dumas.
