Reading One Hundred Years of Solitude, by Gabriel García Márquez, which is, I think, after Harry Potter, the most frequently noted favorite book. The Alchemist, Grapes of Wrath, and To Kill a Mocking Bird are runners up, too.
Her favorite book of all time--The Origins and History of Consciousness, by Erich Neumann, which she read while she was getting her Master's Degree in philosophy.

I am currently reading the biography of Gabriel Garcia Marquez and I have his book, 100 Years of Solitude in stand by mode after I finish his bio.
