October 22, Wednesday night -- Reading Michael Chabon

Waiting for the train
Reading Kavalier and Clay, by Michael Chabon. Her boyfriend got it as a gift and it's finally her turn to read it. It's about two comic book making cousins before, during, and after World War II. She's been trying to distinguish between what's fact and fiction and is now interested in reading other books about that time period. She said she'll be sad when it ends!

When she was about twelve she started reading - horror. She stared with R.L Stine's Goosebumps series and segued into Stephen King.

If she were to write her own book, it'd be about food. Recently she read Omnivore's Dilema, by Michael Pollan. Another recent read -- On Beauty, by Zadie Smith, which she couldn't really get into.

Favorite book -- it used to be Beloved, by Toni Morrison, but she doesn't know anymore. There's so many good books.

What books used to be your favorites?

Ooh, I love Beloved and Jazz, but also On Beauty(different writers, I know). Bliss by Peter Carey... so many, so many. Mama Day, One Hundred Years of Solitude.
