At a Columbian restaurant, looking out at the Mission Branch of City College
Reading about the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo for a class, taught by Marco A. Mojica, called Latino/A Diaspora: The Impact of Latinos Living in the United States.
She is Latin herself, from El Salvador, and is taking the class to become better informed of her Latino heritage. She told me about El Salvador's upcoming elections (on Sunday, March 15th) and how threats of deportation were being circulated, if the leftist party were to win and, while it's not clear what the consequences will be, the leftist party did win. Here's an article about it.
